Day of the African Child

Every year June 16, HEART celebrates the remarkable power and potential of African children. Our future agents of change! Future drivers of the economy! The hope for tomorrow! This year, HEART partnered with the County Government of Taita Taveta, The Department of Children Services, World Vision, Action Aid, Compassion International, NGAAF among other stakeholders to commemorate this important day. The event was held at Mwamunga Primary School in Voi Sub-County. We had 63 HEART children participate in the event. The theme for the event was ‘The right of a child in a digital environment’. Children were encouraged to report any cases of online abuse and to take caution on the sites they visit as technology is here to stay. The Kids for School Project is excited to create a brighter future for African children through Education.
